In November 2023, Hotel Schiphol obtained the Green Key Gold Certificate!
This is the international certification mark for sustainable companies in the tourism sector.
By obtaining this certificate, we go beyond the efforts of what the regular legislation and regulations require in contributing to a better environment.
During your stay, we make sure that the impact on the environment is reduced and that you as a traveller make a socially responsible choice.

Bed linen and towels are changed daily in our hotel. Do you want to contribute to making it a better environment and to make a Green or Orange choice?!
Green choice: Choose to skip your linen change during your stay. This means we have to wash less and therefore use less electricity, water and detergent.
Orange choice: Choose to skip your linen change, but you will receive new towels.
The waste is separated within our hotel based on PMD, paper waste, organic waste and residual waste. Glass waste and cardboard waste are also separately separated in the kitchen.
By separating waste, we ensure that the amount of residual waste is reduced and waste can be recycled.
In our hotel we almost exclusively use LED lighting. The modern LED lighting is economical in energy consumption and provide atmospheric light in the entire building. This is an ideal combination for our modern hotels.
The organic waste from the hotel is used as a raw material for bioenergy plants.
At Hotel Schiphol, biogas is generated from the organic waste, which we then use as fuel for our shuttle bus.
